Game Summary

The Blue Angels suffered another mercy defeat, this time to a team they should not have ever lost to. Several players either didn't show up (physically) or bailed last minute leaving the Blue Angels' bench short. This is normally a good thing for the Blue Angels, however, they were not able to capitalize, only sending 36 players up to bat and only scoring runs in 3 innings including 4 in the first inning to take an early lead. In fact, the Blue Angels were tied after 5 innings at 6 runs only to be outscored 12-0 in the last 2 innings before the mercy rule was applied. A solid pitching effort by #28 Darryl Palmer was wasted in a disastrous nine run 6th inning. Four of the six runs for the Blue Angels were via the home runs of #19 Michael McKenney and #39 Brandon MacKay. #19 Michael McKenney also had a busy night in right center field, making a half dozen catches slowing down the opponents until the top of the 6th inning, where they found every hole. The loss drops the Blue Angels to 8 and 10 on the season and solidifies their position in the bottom third of the league.
