Game Summary

The Blue Angels played quite possibly the best game in franchise history against a top team in Welland Co-ed slow pitch. Again with only 12 batters, it was a narrow loss by one run as the Blue Angels' defense allowed only 5 scattered runs in the first 6 innings while scoring 5 runs of their own in the first 5 innings. The opponents scored 5 runs in the top half of the 7th inning after 2 outs, with a grand slam capping the scoring for them. The Blue Angels put up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning and held the opponents scoreless in the 8th and 9th to give themselves a chance at a walk-off win but it was not to be. The batting averages on both teams were slightly inflated as many outs were fielder's choices to force the lead runner. The Blue Angels were still working out some base running kinks otherwise they would have scored 1 or more additional runs in the bottom of the 8th inning and may have been ahead at that point or at the very least tied. The loss drops their record to 1-2, however, this was a good loss.
