Game Summary

     With only four female players and thus nine fielders, the Blue Angels had a very strong game winning their 3rd straight.  There were many players playing out of position due to absenteeism including #19 Michael McKenney`s first pitching appearance of the season, #16 Tracy McFee at first, #3 Jamie-Lee Hogan in the outfield, and #23 Sabrina Piluso at 2nd base.  Given all these changes in the line up and the three player outfield, the Blue Angels played a very tight game defensively, keeping the opponents off the board for the first 5 innings on only 6 hits.  The opponents would score 11 runs through 8 innings, but the Blue Angels would save one last 3 up 3 down inning for the bottom of the 9th inning, holding on to the 5 run lead.  Offensively, the Blue Angels were again very consistent.  #7 Melissa Borowski found herself on base 6 times despite concussing herself with her own bat in the top of the 7th inning.  On his birthday, #82 Andrew Piluso reached a 0.900 season average after his first two plate appearances ending the game with 3 runs scored.  The win improves the Blue Angels' record to surprising 5-4 record and they will try for 4 in a row next time out.
