Game Summary

     Game #2 of the double header was considerably more competitive for the Blue Angels who found themselves in a 0-0 tie after 3 innings, a 1-1 tie after 5 innings, and a 3-3 tie after 8 inning.  In the top of the 9th inning, the Blue Angels would explode for 4 runs thanks to 5 straight 1 out hits.  In the bottom of the 9th inning, the opponents had 2 outs after 3 batters and with runners on 1st and 2nd base, a ball was sent out to left field where #84 Myles Calvert and #22 Sandi Schellenberg combined for the perfect relay to nail the runner going home ending the game with 0 runs scored in the 9th inning.  While the Blue Angels never threatened in their six of nine scoreless innings, the opponents always looked as if they would score.  The Blue Angels' defense were top level all game, whether it was getting clutch third outs like #45 Todd Skelton's "catch of the year" in the bottom of the 7th inning, laying out in the water soaked field or a double play in the bottom of the 2nd inning when #8 Chris Herbert caught a fly ball in center field and then caught a base runner at 2nd base who forgot how many outs there were.  Offensively, many Blue Angels batters will see their average go down as a result of this game.  The Blue Angels' first run didn't come until the 5th inning on a #84 Myles Calvert sac fly.  #3 Jamie Lee Hogan had the only perfect game at the plate and both her and #82 Andrew Piluso had a game high 2 RBIs each.  Also, #8 Chris Herbert struck out and this is funny.  The victory of Game #2 pushes the Blue Angels' record to 10-5 and ends June with an incredible 8-1 record.
