Game Summary
The ManBearPigs were significantly tested for the first time this season by last season's co-ed league runner-up. While the ManBearPigs' defense was up to the challenge, the offense was robbed of any 'free' hits as the opponents error percentage was exponentially reduced from any previous opponent. Most of the ManBearPigs' hits were earned on this night resulting in a much lower run production, a challenge the ManBearPigs have been waiting for. The ManBearPigs jumped out to an early lead after a 5 run bottom of the 2nd inning, adding a run or two for the next four innings. The opponents were held to 1 run over the first three innings but came alive in the top of the fourth, recording 7 runs in the next two innings. The ManBearPigs held a slim lead (10-8) until the top of the 7th inning when the gave up 5 runs and subsequently the lead. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the 9th inning where the ManBearPigs would only mustard 1 run to narrow the gap to 13-11 (final score). There were more than couple sparkling defensive plays throughout the game for the ManBearPigs, including at least one deep fly over the shoulder catch in left field for both #82 Andrew Piluso and #84 Myles Calvert. The "Drive of the Game" occurred in the bottom of the 2nd inning, a 3 run home run by #39 Brandon MacKay. #4 Leila Paugh suffered her second straight game with a strike out; a feat worth hanging your head over. Female offensive production was down against the better defense of the opponent, however, someone forgot to tell #16 Tracy McFee who had the best batting average of the game and the only female with an RBI. The loss is the first of the season for the ManBearPigs, a 10-1 season record and 1-1 in June, and leaves this opponent as the only undefeated team remaining.
