Game Summary
After spotting the opponents a 9 run lead in the 1st inning, the ManBearPigs had their work cut out for them. Returning the favor in the 2nd inning, the ManBearPigs would score 8 runs to make it a game again. After surrendering 3 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, the ManBearPigs held the opponents to 2 additional runs in the last 5 innings whilst scoring 9 runs of their own including a 5 run top of the 7th to put it out of reach. Offensive highlights included a 6 RBI game from #19 Michael McKenney and 3 walks from both #28 Darryl Palmer and #89 Nicole Henderson (5 of those 6 walks coming around to score). The ManBearPigs utilized singles, walks and aggressive base running to score their runs. Pitcher #28 Darryl Palmer struggled to hit the plate throughout the game after suffering yet another. Defensively, the ManBearPigs took 2 innings to settle in before they began to shut down the opponents. #82 Andrew Piluso would catch a lead off runner at 2nd base napping in the bottom of the 5th inning before completing a double play at first base. He would also catch a lead off would be triple at 3rd base in the bottom of the 7th and last inning with the assistance of #25 Josh Koehn and #9 Casey Perreault to virtually eliminate any thought of a come back for the opponents. The win improves the ManBearPigs' record to 2-0 in the early season.
