Game Summary

If there was such a thing as a good loss, the Minge O'Toole's may have had one with a great effort against the top team in the league who has yet to lose this year.  It was looking bleak for the Minge O'Toole's, down 10-1 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning, when the offense lit it up for a 7 run inning and only down by 2 heading into the 6th and final inning. The Minge O'Toole's couldn't get any closer but gave the opponents something to think about as the two teams meet once more on August 15th. There were no extra bases given up by the Minge O'Toole's defense and only one male walk given up by pitcher #15 Michael Lavender. At that time the game was a 9-1 landslide and the male batter who walked was given the gears. #19 Michael McKenney led the offense with 2 home runs (his 10th and 11th of the year) as well as some very good female batting in the 5th inning which kept the line up moving.  #7 Kelly Easton broke out of her slump with a 2 hit performance including one over the head of the right fielder that went to the fence. The game's final inning got exciting when a force play at 2nd turned ugly.  #39 Brandon MacKay slid into 2nd attempting  to break up a double play and when he popped up he apparently hit a midget who was not happy. The loss drops the Minge O'Toole's record to 11-12-3 and 2-4-2 in July.
