Game #1 - Playoff Semi-Finals

After nearly a three week layoff, the Minge O'Toole's struggled to find their rhythm with the bats in a very moist game that was played virtually under water. The Minge O'Toole's had won every game against the Welland Wingers since they entered the league in 2010, until this game, where they could only manage a tie to start their playoff run. The game went 6 innings in regulation time with an attempt to break the tie with a 7th and final inning but no additional runs were scored. Again, the Minge O'Toole's fell victim to a very bad single inning when the opposition scored 8 runs in the 5th inning on at least 5 walks (had to guess) by pitcher #15 Michael Lavender, who regrouped to toss two additional shut-out innings (5 total) with the aid of some defense behind him. The Minge O'Toole's fielded at par or better according to the numbers, however, some timely plays and fortunate mistakes allowed for a couple of double plays to end innings without the opposition scoring. The Minge O'Toole's were up 8-3 after 4 innings thanks to some aggressive base running and 2-run home runs by #19 Michael McKenney and #39 Brandon MacKay. #19 Michael Mckenney went on to post a 4 for 4 evening while most of the team had less fortune with the bats. In a 'first to 8 point' series, the game ending in a draw extends the minimum amount of games to 5.
