Game Summary

• After a disappointing game the previous night, the ManBearPigs bounced back with a fantastic effort for the final regular season game.
• This was the only opponent the ManBearPigs hadn't defeated yet (officially, recall the previous opponent throwing a game and forfeiting).
• The ManBearPigs play good games against this opponent but seem to give up too many runs early and can't overcome the deficit, including a game in the tournament.
• The ManBearPigs gave up 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and responded with 4 runs in the bottom half, including a 3-run home run off the bat of #10 Doug Brascoupe, his 6th counted home run of the season.
• A shut down top of the 2nd inning for the ManBearPigs' defense was solidified with another 4 runs in the bottom half, which could have been more if not for a run cut down at home plate for a double play as #8 Melissa Borowski tried to score on a sac fly by #19 Michael McKenney (the first male out of the game).
• #8 Melissa Borowski was perfect in the outfield to make up for it, with 2 catches to shut down rallies.
• Also, in easily her best game thus far, #29 Sharon Vandersar smoked a ball into the outfield while at bat and caught a throw at home plate as the catcher, as the ManBearPigs cut a run down on defense as well.
• The opponents scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning to close the score to 8-5 temporarily.
• The ManBearPigs responded in the bottom half with their third straight 4 run inning, including a 3-run home run by #39 Brandon MacKay, his 12th counted home run of the season.
• The opponents scored a single run in the top of the 4th inning and the ManBearPigs could only mustard a disappointing 3 runs in the bottom half to push the lead to 15-6.
• The opponents would actually win the 5th inning 3-2, making the score 17-9.
• The 6th inning was scoreless, as the ManBearPigs benefited from a line out double play to end the top half.
• The 7th and final inning (although not announced as the final inning by the umpire) had a rocky start for pitcher #10 Doug Brascoupe as the opponents were looking to walk and did so with their first 2 batters of the inning.
• Things settled and the damaged was only 2 runs for a final score of 17-11.
• The win in the regular season final may have given the ManBearPigs a 3rd place finish in the division, leaping over this opponent, who do still have 1 game remaining.
• A 3-1 record in August gives the ManBearPigs a 16-11-1 final record in the regular season.
