Game Summary

• After a big loss 2 nights earlier, the ManBearPigs were in better spirits for this game.
• The ManBearPigs would only score one more run against this 8th place team than they did against the 2nd place team in the last game.
• The difference was the ManBearPigs' exceptionally tight defense which allowed only 3 runs in the first 8 innings before allowing the opponents a 6-run bottom of the 9th inning making the score as close as it was.
• The opponents' first runs came on a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning and their 3rd run was on a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.
• While it was a near perfect game defensively, the ManBearPigs still struggled with the bat.
• Aside from a 4-run top of the 7th inning where #5 Mike Frank hit his 15th counted home run of the season for 3 RBIs, the ManBearPigs scored no more then 2 runs in any inning including four shutout innings.
• #39 Brandon MacKay hit a solo home run to lead off the top of the 2nd inning (his 6th counted and 12th overall) to give the ManBearPigs a 1-0 lead.
• Prior to the big 7th inning for the ManBearPigs, the score was only 6-2 after 6 innings.
• The ManBearPigs welcomed #9 Casey Perreault back after a long absence, just in time for the all-star game.
• #45 Todd Skelton, also headed to the all-star game, lead the way with 3 runs scored.
• The win improves the ManBearPigs' record to 4-3 in July and 20-3 overall.
