Game Summary
Game 4 of the playoff round robin was played well by the Blue Angels despite the loss. The offense for the Blue Angels did well for a second consecutive game and the defense sparkled for 6 of 8 innings. Unfortunately for the Blue Angels, the other two innings saw 15 runs cross the plate and must have featured 10 plus errors, mostly in left field. The Blue Angels recovered after the 7 run 4th inning they allowed with a 5 run bottom of the 5th inning to go up 9-7. However, that, the largest lead the Blue Angels would have, was short lived as the top of the 6th inning was another disastrous 8 run debacle that the Blue Angels were not able to completely overcome. The Blue Angels had there chances, including the tying run at second in the bottom of the 8th and final inning after an intentional walk of #84 Myles Calvert, who remains perfect in the playoffs. #8 Chris Herbert hit his second home run of the post season in the bottom of the 5 run 5th inning as well as a great outfield assist for the 2nd out in the top of the 6th inning. #7 Melissa Borowski had herself a great game with 2 hits and a walk. The Blue Angels certainly played well enough to win but it could be argued that they didn't build enough of a lead early while they were shutting out the opponents to prepare for a bad inning... or two. The loss drops the Blue Angels to 1-3 in the post season, last in their division, and means they must win their last game and other teams must lose to avoid elimination.
