Game Summary

The Blue Angels found themselves trailing once again for the better part of a game against this divisional opponent who always provide a tough challenge.  Down 5-4 after 5 innings, the teams traded 3 runs in the 6th inning before the Blue Angels blew it wide open in the top of the 7th inning scoring 7 runs en route to the 15-12 victory.  A season high 6 walks were drawn by the Blue Angels' female batters alone (and most if not all with courtesy swings), allowing for an above average on base percentage and nearly half the runs to be scored by females.  #82 Andrew Piluso smashed his 7th home run of the season (3rd official) hitting the top of the 2nd fence in right field at Plymouth Park with enough force and spin to roll over the top of the fence.  Defensively, the Blue Angels performed well coming up with clutch plays, including one on the first batter of the final inning by #16 Tracy McFee, stabbing a back hand ground ball and throwing out a potent male bat at first.  The high runs against could be attributed more so to the ease of home runs at the small diamond, of which 5 runs were gained by the opponent.  The Blue Angels extend their win streak to 3 and are 3-1 in July and 18-1-1 overall.  For the first time since the start of the season, the Blue Angels find themselves out of first place overall due to fewer games played.
