Game Summary
The last upper division opponent stood in the way of the Blue Angels on this night. Upper division or not, there was no defense for the bats of the Blue Angels. Albeit, it took a few innings to get going, but the Blue Angels score 3 or more runs in five innings while only giving up the same in two innings. There were in fact 4 shutout innings for the Blue Angels' defense who did a good job of stranding base runners at 3rd all night. It was a shaky start defensively with many small errors that added up. It was a closer game than it needed to be, 12-10 after 6 full innings. However, they tightened up and sat down the last 7 batters faced while scoring 9 runs of their own during those same innings to suck the life out of the opponents and cruise to a 21-10 victory. On her birthday, #16 Tracy McFee had a perfect 5 hit night at the plate, raising her batting average 24 points, and was an exceptionally aggressive base runner, getting herself gunned down twice trying to advance yet still scoring twice. #15 Michael Lavender would match her feat while #19 Michael McKenney, #39 Brandon MacKay and #84 Myles Calvert all had 4 hit nights, each looking like they had hit home runs only to be denied by the vast field at Memorial #1. The Blue Angels did hit into two rare double plays but it would not matter as they improve their record to 23-1-1 with their 8th straight win, ending July with an 8-1-0 record and an impressive 4-1-1 seasonrecord against the upper division.
