Game Summary
Despite the opponents lack of rule knowledge and/or acknowledgement, the Blue Angels increased their win streak to 6 consecutive victories with a 13-6 defeat of the 'all female' team that only fielded four females. After aggravating the umpire by correcting his pre-game 'understanding' of the rules, the Blue Angels received no close calls during the course of the game but that mattered not. The Blue Angels continued to show great defensive abilities with 5 scoreless innings against and 2 single run innings. While, offensively, the Blue Angels laid up some traditional big numbers early, jumping out to a 9-1 lead after 3 innings of play. The ladies had the bats going all night with stand out #3 Jamie Lee Hogan hitting for the cycle, including a 1 error inside the park home run that one hopped the fence at Plymouth Park, making their outfielder look foolish. #8 Chris Herbert tied the team lead in legit home runs with his fourth in the bottom of the 1st inning, hitting a line drive of the top of the fence and over. And how about a breakout game for #5 Candice McKenney who nearly made a great catch in right field while getting 4 base hits at the plate. Pitcher #99 Sandi Schellenberg keeps improving an already great stat sheet, coming through with 2 huge strike outs in the top of the 7th inning as part of a no run, one base runner, final 2 innings. The Blue Angels improve their record to 10-0-1 on the season with a double header against weak opponents next up.
