Game Summary

This game was both the best offensive display in Blue Angels franchise history and the worse defensive effort of the year for the Blue Angels (based on runs against). The Blue Angels fielded 4 males and 6 females due to some unknown absenteeism and looked out of their element going down 9-0 by the 2nd inning and 16-7 by the 3rd inning.  Something happened in the 4th inning though, as the defense put up three straight zeroes to close the line on pitcher #99 Sandi Schellenberg, and the offense scored 35 runs over the last 4 innings for a seven inning total of 42 (a new franchise record).  Relief pitcher #19 Michael McKenney had it rough as the Blue Angels had a 26 run lead when he came in to close the game out and the Blue Angels definitely made some errors behind him right before a double play and fly out to end the game.  #8 Chris Herbert had a franchise best 9 hit performance including his 7th home run of the year while #84 Myles Calvert hit his first home run that was not at Plymouth, which is an accomplishment.  #16 Tracy McFee scored a season high 4 runs while #99 Sandi Schellenberg accomplished the same feat for the second time this season.  #9 Casey Perreault attained a game high 5 hits for the females.  While the boys may have supplied the fire power with 6 base clearers, the girls scored 18 runs suggesting they were getting on base all night as well.  In fact, every single batter raised their average in this barn burner of a game and, unfortunately, the Blue Angels' runs against average skyrocketed as well after giving up 21 runs.  Prior to this game the season high was 9.  Outstanding perseverance by the Blue Angels saw them win their 10th game in a row with a overall record of 14-0-1.
