Game Summary

After threats of rain held off all day, the field of play got a thorough soaking just before game time delaying the start by 15 minutes.  However, the game was played and was played well by the Blue Angels who fielded only 9 defenders (only 4 girls) but still managed to keep the top tier opponent to 6 runs en route to another mercy victory.  The Blue Angels took one extra inning this time but came through yet again with 12 runs in the 2nd inning, which is all they would eventually need.  Pitcher #19 Michael McKenney got the start but was lifted between the 1st and 2nd innings (1-1 tie) for #99 Sandi Schellenberg to facilitate an all male outfield.  This proved to be a good strategy as the sloppy outfield was difficult to navigate by even the best players.  #20 Steve Gaspar ended the game with a diving catch in right field sliding through the mud.  The Blue Angels' first inside the park home run was had by #8 Chris Herbert.  The win improves the Blue Angels' record to 4-0, and with only 19 runs against all season, the Blue Angels are tops in their division and the league.
